MESSAGE FROM MANAGEMENT

The factory ‘s history begins back in the last half of the 19th century in Adana area in Turkey. Ousoultzoglou family name is combined with cotton ginning for more than 120 years. Throughout these years, even though the company passes from one generation to the next one, business ethics and principles remain strict and constant.

The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to summarize principles and standards that are mandatory to secure sustainability and progress of the Company. Furthermore, internal practices must be based on rules to ensure continuity and consistency as well.

Company’s highest ethical standards and principles are Integrity, Credibility, Environmental Responsibility and Social Accountability. As leadership, we are committed to day-to-day business practices that comply to these values, we lead by example and communicate openly the guidelines for behavior of the company.

For the reasons above, the scope of this Code is to present a guide for every person participating in the Company’s operations in order to pursue a fair, transparent and legal business activity.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW

Every Company has the obligation to comply with the laws that a State has set. This is an obvious duty but not just a moral one. It is essential for all individuals to understand that compliance with the laws and consultation of the Legal Services of a Company, is the only way to secure that no unexpected consequences occur, concerning the legitimacy of their actions while performing their duties.

INTEGRITY

All employees and employers are committed to act and behave with honesty and integrity. Everyone should ensure that all business operations and services are dealt with fair and unbiased manner. This principle applies to temporary and part-time staff employed by the Company as well.

SAFETY

The Company is obliged to provide all means in order to ensure a safe environment for all employees in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

SUSTAINABILITY

Over the last 30 years, our Company has set various systems and processes up in order to reduce adverse environmental and social impact resulting from the Company’s operations.

Application of high quality standard protocols such as Agro 2.2&2.4, certification implemented by the State’s Agricultural Ministry, sets the basis for making decisions aimed at the constant improvement of our environmental performance.

Our main effort and responsibility is to avoid practices and methods that compromise the environmental and social stability for the next generations. We emphasize on implementing processes that will secure the conservation of natural resources, such as saving energy, recycling and re-using materials, training the personnel to behave and work with environmentally friendly way and finally trying to ensure that every person related to the Company complies with the principles above.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Conducting business ethically and with sensitivity is an integral part of the strategy of the Company. Company’s contribution and responsibility, towards the local society as well as in broader societies where it does business, are focused on social, cultural, environmental and economic issues.

A good example of effective social contribution of the Company is economic development by creating jobs and supporting local suppliers. The Company also provides financial support to local festivals and events, local sport teams, social entities and poor families.

Ethical responsibility is beyond the laws. Therefore, even if it is no legal obligation, the Company always follows fair trade practices, respects religions of employees or partners and acts ethically and responsively in its internal operations.

INFORMATION PERSONAL DATA MANAGEMENT

Information such as clients and suppliers’ lists, personal data and records, Company’s financial data, contracts or any other information that affects or could affect the Company’s activities, shall be kept confidential and protected.

Any kind of this information may only be used and processed by the Company in compliance with the law and strictly only after written consensus of all parts.

REPORTING VIOLATIONS

It is essential, for everyone in the Company, to understand that complying with the Code of Business Conduct, provides a safe and trustworthy working environment.

It must be clear that every violation of the Code should result in penalties set by the Company and the relevant laws. This is the main way to secure that this Code is strict and valid.

The best way to ensure that everyone providing service to the Company is complied to this Code, is to encourage the personnel and the members of the management to freely report any action or behavior that is possibly deviating from the policies of the Company.
